MAYES COUNTY, Okla. - A one-vehicle crash Sunday night east of Locust Grove left the driver dead and his two passengers injured.
Mark A. Cozad, 24, died at the scene after being pinned in his truck for more than an hour and a half.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Cozad was driving at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate a curve on CR 590. The truck left the roadway for about 75 feet, struck a tree and caught fire.
The two passengers were transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
The accident happened west of CR 442 on CR 590 just before 11 p.m.
