TULSA - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is searching for a driver after an accident in a construction zone on I-244 early Tuesday morning.
Investigators say a driver of a pick-up truck drove around barricades and into the construction zone on the inner dispersal loop. The truck was traveling at high speeds and went airborne getting caught dangling from the bridge. The bridge does not have working a roadway because of the construction.
Officials aren't sure exactly when the accident happened. Construction crews heard a loud crash at about 2 a.m. and then railway employees found the dangling truck at 3 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene the driver was gone, but there was a blood trail that shows the person climbed out of the truck, onto the bridge and walked back to the highway.
Troopers are still looking for the driver.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was able to remove the car from the bridge before 5 on Tuesday morning.
