Downtown Tulsa bridge damaged when truck fails to clear underpass, northbound I-244 closed

TULSA - Crews have closed a portion of Interstate 244 Monday after a truck failed to clear a bridge.
The truck struck the underside of the I-244 overpass near 3rd and Nogales around noon.
Crews have closed the northbound lanes of I-244 from the Broken Arrow Expressway north. Traffic is detoured from eastbound I-244 to eastbound SH-51/US-64.
Third Street is also closed from Houston to Nogales.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says I-244 will be closed until late Tuesday as crews continue to assess the damage. Motorists need to avoid the area if possible.
