TULSA - Several Green Country school districts announced plans to end the school year early.
Because of the mild winter, many Tulsa metro area school districts did not use any of their snow days.
"We actually have extra days in the calendar so if we do not use those days, typically we take them off at the end of the school year," said Bonnie Rogers, communications director for Jenks Public Schools.
In Jenks, the last day of school will likely be May 23.
For Tulsa, the last day is May 16 for most students.
Union and Broken Arrow schools will let out on May 24.
District officials say because of budget constraints, it is impractical to hold classes on the extra snow days.
A Sand Springs official said the district does not build in snow days. The final day of school is May 23.
