TULSA - Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris spoke out today against Oklahoma lawmakers that shot down anti-meth proposals.
The bills would have required a prescription to purchase pseudoephedrine, a key ingredient in making meth.
Harris said, "We elected them to pass good laws to protect our people and they didn't even give the process a chance. That's why I feel betrayed."
A recent associated press survey ranks Oklahoma in the top five methamphetamine-producing states in the nation.
Missouri topped the list with more than 2,000 meth lab seizures in 2011.
Oklahoma ranked fifth with just over 900 labs seized - 428 of those were in Tulsa.
