TULSA - Tulsa Police Department has identified the officers and the suspect in the officer-involved shooting in east Tulsa Thursday night.
Officers Trevor Peters and Nate Terrell responded to the domestic disturbance call around 9 p.m. near 31st and Garnett.
The suspect has been identified as Santos Pedro Sajche-Iszet.
"They were told by the caller that the suspect was her estranged husband, that he had been harassing her for quite some time and that in the past when he has come by he has come by armed," Franklin said.
As the officers exited the woman's home, Franklin says they witnessed Sajche-Iszet, 30, drive by and eventually return to the house.
Franklin tells 2NEWS the man got out of his vehicle and walked toward the officers, before pulling out a large knife.
"The officers were trying to be very cautious because he had been seen with a weapon in the past," he said.
Investigators say Sajche-Iszet refused orders to drop the weapon, therefore one of the officers fired several shots, hitting him at least once in the abdominal area. According to TPD, Officer Peters fired the shots.
Police say Sajche-Iszet was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and he will be charged for assault with a deadly weapon. Franklin says he was still enraged when additional officers and paramedics arrived on the scene.
Peters, 23, and Terrell, 26, have been placed on administrative leave, according to Franklin.
