COWETA, Okla. - Firefighters have put out a grass fire along the Tulsa and Wagoner County border near Coweta, according to the city's fire captain.
Wind made the fire difficult to contain, but the blaze, which burned through a wooded area, didn't affect any of the dozen or so homes in the area.
Fire crews had reportedly warned around 20 homes near 141st Street South and 257th East Avenue of a possible evacuation at the height of the fire.
