WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. - A Coweta woman found guilty of involvement in her husband's shooting death was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Monday.
A jury found Patricia Burney guilty last month of hiring her daughter's boyfriend, Michael Richardson, to kill her husband.
Arthur Burney was found shot and killed with a single bullet to the head on Feb 18. in a barn near the couple's home.
According to court documents, Burney offered to pay Richardson $6,000.
Richardson testified against Burney during her trial. Kuester says the DA's office may work out a deal with Richardson for his cooperation.
His next court date is scheduled for May 14.
Burney's daughter was prosecuted as a juvenile. She is currently serving time in a juvenile facility.
