FORT GIBSON, Okla. - Two people were arrested on Saturday when Fort Gibson police found a child alone in a car outside of a casino.

Police say they were called to the scene by security officers at the Cherokee Casino in Fort Gibson  when they spotted an unattended child in a car on Christmas Eve.

Officials say the child was left alone for about 25 minutes.  The outside temperature was around 30 degrees.

Police opened the door and started the heater to help warm the child.

Officers say they arrested David Lee Smith, 41, and Tamara Vance, 47, on child endangerment charges.

Both are being held without bond.

The child was released to a relative.
