TULSA - Following Jenks' $11.5 million bond approval Tuesday, Tulsa school officials are preparing their pitch for safety-based funding.
Three community forums have been scheduled over the next two weeks to discuss the 2013 Smart & Secure Schools bond.
The community forums will take place as follows:
The proposed $38 million bond would fund school security upgrades and the installation of fire sprinklers in 11 TPS buildings, according to the district. Technology and infrastructure would also be addressed.
Another school safety meeting, scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday at OSU-Tulsa, will focus on Ident-a-Kid procedure, current security measures and the recent discussion surrounding armed faculty.
