A crime interrupted ends with a seven-year old boy shot in the arm.

Tulsa police believe two men were about to rob someone in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 41st and Riverside. Someone inside the apartment opened the door, then quickly shut the door once they saw the gunman.

The gunman fired a single shot through the door, hitting the seven-year old in the arm. He's expected to make a full recovery.

"I'm just glad the little boy wasn't hurt worse than what he was, I mean it was pretty bad," said neighbor Kari Childress.

The incident makes her wary of her own safety.

"This is a very small community over here, and everyone looks out for each other," she said. "So for something like this to happen, it definitely puts our guard up."

The neighborhood is still recovering from another shooting that happened just a block away on Wednesday. Police arrested 17-year olds Christian Raber and Ethan Dentlinger for shooting Wesley Nelson. Authorities say Raber shot Nelson when he confronted them as they were stealing a flat-screen television from inside his home.

Anyone with information about Friday's shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
