Chick-fil-A supporters appreciation day causes commotion at Tulsa restaurant

TULSA -- Supporters lined up outside Chick-fil-A restaurants all across the Tulsa area Wednesday as the company continues to be criticized for an executive's comments about gay marriage.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, declared Wednesday national "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
2News reporter Liz Bryant said a line of people wrapped around the restaurant all day long.
For the most part, it was a pretty peaceful event. Lisa McDonald told 2News "I'm not here to debate anyone."
Ryan Enis was the only protester at Tulsa Hill's location. Enis said he was standing at the entrance and "thought it might be a good idea to step out and quietly give a face to the other side of the story."
Most customers say their purchase is the same thing as a vote, supporting Chick-fil-A's stance on marriage.
Terri Jones Casey wrote on our Facebook wall that she waited for an hour to get her order at the Chick-fil-A in Owasso. She said staff were out taking customers' orders who were waiting in line and passing out sample desserts. Terri wrote that upon arriving to the drive-through window, she was told the lady in front of her had paid for her order.
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family." That unleashed a torrent of criticism from gay rights groups and others, who have called for boycotts and efforts to block the chain from opening new stores.
Opponents of the company's stance are planning "Kiss Mor Chiks" Friday, when they are encouraging people of the same sex to show up at Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country and kiss each other.
