CATOOSA, Okla. - Two Catoosa businesses were destroyed Saturday morning in a fire at Admiral Place and 193rd East Avenue, near the Hard Rock Casino.
More than 15 Tulsa and Catoosa fire crews responded to the fire in a strip mall that contains a Goo-Ruu Pizza restaurant, a Dollar General and an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. The fire began around 9 a.m.
The roof of the Dollar General eventually collapsed. Officials said the "heavy load" of merchandise in the store made it difficult to fight the blaze. It took crews about six hours to contain the fire.
Other nearby businesses sustained light smoke and some water damage.
Hazmat crews and Oklahoma Natural Gas were also called on the scene after a Jeep hit a gas meter while the fire was underway.
Investigators are on the scene, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Officials believe it began in Dollar General or Goo-Ruu Pizza.
Authorities say all the businesses were closed when fire crews arrived. No one was hurt in the incident.
