CATOOSA, Okla. - Officials suspended the town's city manager on Wednesday night, leaving many residents asking lots of questions.
The Catoosa City Council voted 5 to 2 to suspend City Manager Leroy Alsup Wednesday evening.
Several residents attended the special city council meeting.
Many of them said they support Alsup and the job he was doing to improve the city and want answers.
"It sounded like it was a done deal before anybody even got here, which is also sad because nobody knows what's going on exactly," said Catoosa resident Laura Ruiz.
The council met in executive session before returning to regular session to take the vote.
Alsup left before the vote.
He was the town's first city manager, hired in 2011.
Catoosa Mayor Red Statum, along with a city attorney, declined to comment on Alsup's suspension, calling it a personnel matter.
The council appointed city clerk, Judy Scullawl, to serve as acting city manager.
