Brothers Cedric Poore, James Poore officially charged with Fairmont Terrace quadruple homicide

TULSA - Two brothers arrested in connection with a quadruple homicide in January at Fairmont Terrace have officially been charged with murder.
Cedric Poore, 29, and James Poore, 32, are facing four counts of first-degree murder and four additional counts of robbery with a firearm. Cedric Poore was also charged with possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

On Jan. 7, Tulsa police found four women -- Julie Jackson, Misty Nunley and twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor -- dead in the twins' apartment. All four women's hands were bound behind their backs and they had been shot in the head.
Weeks later, police connected the Poore's to the shooting through repeated interviews, said Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan.
Police say at least one of the brother's was staying in an apartment at Fairmont Terrace.

According to their arrest report, the brothers told witnesses they planned to rob the apartment Melchor and Powell.
The Poore brothers took drugs, money and jewelry from the residence, according to the affidavit, and James Poore later told witnesses both he and his brother shot women.
“Filing charges is the first step in our effort to obtain justice for each of these victims, their families and the community,” said First Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond. “As in any case, both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty. At the appropriate time, the District Attorney’s Office must present evidence to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.'
Both men have prior felony convictions for robbery. Cedric Poore was sentenced to 35 years in prison for a 1995 robbery in which two victims at a Tulsa club were bound and cash stolen from the from the business. James Poore pled guilty in 2001 to four Tulsa convenience store robberies and was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 5-year suspended sentence.
