BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - A Broken Arrow man was arrested Thursday after police found his 2-year-old and 5-month-old in his vehicle unattended at a Buffalo Wild Wings, police said.
The children's father, Jason Daniel Murray, 31, first denied to police any knowledge of leaving the children in the vehicle and said that someone else might have put the children in his vehicle, according to Murray’s arrest report.
He later admitted to police that he did leave his children in the vehicle running and went inside to have a drink, the report states.
Police say the two year old is scheduled to undergo heart surgery in January to repair a atrio ventricular canal defect.
Before being arrested, Murray told police he had a loaded gun concealed in his waist band, the report states.
The mother met police and took the children.
Murray is being held on two counts of child abuse or neglect, carrying a firearm into a place where alcohol is sold, possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and public intoxication.
His bonds total $107,100.
