Broken Arrow City Council to vote on extending Rose District construction timeline to December.
Construction on Broken Arrow’s Rose District has been ongoing since June, and businesses and patrons may have to wait a little while longer for the finished product.
The Broken Arrow City Council will vote Tuesday whether or not to approve a four-week extension for the Downtown main Street Streetscape project.
Construction was originally set to be completed mid-October, with an additional four weeks for streetscaping.
“Construction has been delayed by some unforeseen events, but the crews are working around the clock to still complete before the heart of the holiday shopping season hits,” said Lisa Frein Director of Downtown Development. “
Should the extension be approved, construction would be completed around Nov. 15, with an additional three weeks for softscaping.
Frein said this will only affect downtown businesses for about two additional weeks than originally planned.
Events will continue as planned including Open Late and the Broken Arrow High School Homecoming Parade, Oct. 3 and Night Out Against Crime and Fun and Games on Main Saturday, Oct. 26.
