BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - An employee of a Broken Arrow nursing home was arrested Friday and accused of repeatedly raping two elderly women in his care.
Police said Friday Uqbasilassie K. Zerie, a 32-year-old certified nurse assistant at Franciscan Villa, was taken into police custody Friday on five counts of sexual assault after allegedly raping a 93-year-old and 80-year-old woman multiple times.
According to the Broken Arrow Police Department, Zerie admitted to assaulting the women several times over the past six to seven months, telling authorities they didn't say no.
Police were alerted after one of Zerie's co-workers claimed to have walked in on him pulling his pants up in one of the patient's rooms.
Zerie was fired following his arrest, according to St. John Health System, which owns the nursing home. Zerie, who has been living in Tulsa, is in the United States on a green card from east Africa, according to BAPD.
