Broken Arrow Angel rapist will spend the rest of his life behind bars

TULSA - The Broken Arrow Angel rapist will be in jail for the rest of his life.

A judge sentenced 32 year-old Douglas Polk in court Wednesday morning to six consecutive life sentences, along with another 41 years.

In 2007 Polk kidnapped the Broken Arrow Angel, then 5 years old, out of her front lawn. He raped her and left her severely injured on the side of a Wagoner County road.

Another child, an 11 year-old girl, recently came forward, police were able to connect the two. The second victim was just seven years old when she was first assaulted by Polk in 2006.

The courtroom was packed with supporters, including the group known as B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse), along with family and friends.

The little girl known as the 'Broken Arrow Angel', now 8 years-old, came forward in the courtroom and read a prepared statement to Polk. In it she said to Polk, "I don't want you hurting anybody else that's why you should be in jail forever, so accept it."

She went on to say, "I'm going to forget all about you, and go on with my life how I want it to be, without any bad person stopping me. I was only five years old, now I'm eight. I'm going to be what God wants me to be and nothing's stopping me, especially you!"

Her grandmother says she wrote the entire statement herself.

Tulsa County judge, Tom Gillert, said during the sentencing, the crimes Polk committed were "beyond imagination" and Polk "will live out the rest of his days in a penitentiary."

Polk faced a total of 12 criminal charges. He is sentenced to life in prison for each of the four counts of child sexual abuse, first degree rape of a victim under 14 years old, and lewd molestation. Polk received another 40 years for kidnapping. He was sentenced to a year each for five more misdemeanor charges. They will be served concurrently.

"You need to respect your punishment.  That was a bad thing you did.  I don't want you hurting anybody else.  That is why you should be in jail forever, so accept it.  God made you but you are not like God's person.  You are the devil's person.  You should have been on God's side and this would never happen.  Back then I was a little angel fish and you were a great white shark.  Now I am the great white shark and you are the little clown fish.  I'm going to forget all about you and go on with my life how I want it to be without any bad person stopping me.  I was only five years old, now I am eight.  I'm going to be what God wants me to be and nothing's stopping me, especially you."
