BIXBY, Okla. - A Broken Arrow woman is behind bars after police say she assaulted her mother and endangered a child.
Lyndsay Spegal, 28, was arrested Wednesday on multiple assault complaints as well as drug possession and child endangerment.
According to the police report, Spegal's mother, Amy McGill, said she picked her daughter up in Tulsa and believed her daughter was on drugs.
McGill told police the two began fighting in the vehicle and Spegal grabbed her throat, forcing her to pull over.
McGill said when they arrived at her Bixby home, Spegal wrestled her to the ground outside the vehicle, trying to take the car keys, while McGill's granddaughter was in the backseat.
According to the police report, McGill's neighbors, Jack and Denise Collins, intervened while McGill was yelling for them to call police and Spegal was trying to drive off in the vehicle. Jack Collins opened the driver's door to stop Spegal while Denise Collins tried to help McGill retrieve the child from the backseat.
Police say Spegal began recklessly driving in reverse and Jack and Denise Collins jumped out of the way of the car. McGill jumped in the backseat with the child.
Police say McGill was able to reach over the seat and put the vehicle in park. Spegal jumped from the vehicle and ran away.
When police arrived, McGill had bloody scratches to her neck and arm.
Spegal was taken into custody at her home in Broken Arrow and eventually booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
