BA woman claims self-defense in stabbing

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - A Broken Arrow woman is facing first degree manslaughter charges after a man was stabbed in an early morning domestic dispute.

The incident happened in the 400 block of South Date Avenue in Broken Arrow just after Midnight Monday morning.

Broken Arrow Police say when they arrived they found 43-year-old Breck Barton had been stabbed in the chest.

He was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The woman was arrested on scene, but claims she stabbed Barton in self defense.

Broken Arrow Police Major Mark Irwin believes the victim was the dominant aggressor, but tells 2 NEWS “a life was taken.”

The case will now go to the District Attorney's Office.
