MCALESTER, Okla. - Authorities are looking for a heavily tattooed 27-year-old Missouri man said to be escaped from a McAlester prison Friday.

Alvin Dale Boyer, wanted for escape from Department of Corrections and considered armed and dangerous, was listed as missing from the minimum Jackie Brannon Correctional Center when he did not appear for the 8:30 a.m. count, according to officials.

Jerry Massie with DOC told 2NEWS Boyer has family in Kansas and Missouri and may be headed that way.

He is described as being 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 163-pounds and as having black hair and hazel-colored eyes.

Court records indicate Boyer was convicted in 2011 out of Ottawa County for a variety of drug and weapons charges, among those being, felonious possession of a firearm after a former conviction of a felony and possession of a firearm with a serial number removed.
