Six people have been shot at a south Tulsa apartment complex since late August and now new management is heightening security.

The shootings occurred at The Fairmont Terrace Apartments near 61st & S. Peoria.

Apartment management fixed the gate after the rash of violence at the complex, and hired a security guard to monitor the entrance, but residents remain wary of what has become a dangerous place to live.

2NEWS captured video of residents holding the gate open for others, drivers tailgating vehicles without punching a security code, even people walking right through -- all of which undermine the gate.
