TULSA - A man is in jail Friday after police discovered a meth lab in his possession.

Police were called just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday to Silver Creek Apartments, near 41st Street and South 109th East Avenue, where a security guard had a suspect in custody.

Police say 46-year-old Robert Beam was apprehended by security after running from them and then striking a guard with a bag.

When security handcuffed Beam a one-pot meth lab was found inside the bag Beam had in his possession.

Police later confirmed the lab was active.  Members of the Vice Unit were called to dismantle the lab.

Beam was transported to the Tulsa County Jail for endeavoring to manufacture.

Police say Beam also has a felony warrant out of Osage County.
