American Airlines mechanics and stock clerks vote down a new contract with the airline last night.
The airline says it will continue working toward new agreements with those groups and will seek mediation.
American says the rejected contract was the airline's "best offer."
It included 6% pay raises over three years.
However, the airline's maintenance control technicians did vote to ratify their labor contract.
