TULSA - Three people were transported to the hospital after an Oologah-Talala ambulance rolled over near U.S. Highway 169 and 46th St. North, police said.

They all are reported to be in non-critical condition, EMSA spokesman Chris Stevens said.

Just before 6 p.m. the ambulance was transporting a patient when it tried to miss a hay bale on the roadway, struck a guard rail and rolled over, Tulsa Police Capt. Dave Roberts said.

The highway was narrowed to one lane as investigators looked into the cause.

The driver of the hay bale could be cited for not properly securing its load, Roberts said.

No other vehicles were involved.
