TULSA - An alleged drunk driver was arrested after crashing into another car at a stop light early Monday morning.
It happened just before 2 a.m. on 71st Street at Highway 169.
Police say the driver of a black Honda Civic was speeding when he crashed into the back of a yellow Ford Mustang that was stopped at a light.
The impact left both drivers and a passenger in the Mustang unable to escape the vehicles on their own. It took the help of firefighters and the jaws of life.
When police arrived, they say the driver of the Civic appeared drunk. Police say he later failed a breathalizer after blowing a 0.10 BAC. The legal limit in Oklahoma is 0.08.
Billy Thomas was arrested for driving under the influence. He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on $3,600 bond.
The passenger in the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
