TULSA - 2NEWS Chief Meteorologist Dan Threlkeld remains hospitalized with a rare condition, station management announced Friday.
The well known television personality was hospitalized last week and underwent emergency surgery.
Doctors diagnosed him with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the nervous system.
The disease often first manifests itself in weakness or numbness in the extremities. The condition has no known cure, but doctors can treat it medically and ease the symptoms significantly.
Dan has asked that the station let viewers know that he is resting well and receiving excellent medical care.
His prognosis is excellent; doctors say he can expect full recovery. He says he looks forward to being back on the air very soon.
