TULSA - Police say a 24-year-old man died after being shot multiple times in the torso around 1:30 Saturday morning.

Byron James Ivory was standing in front of his car near 18th Street South and Baltimore Avenue when he was shot.  Police believe the motive was robbery.

The man went into surgery at a local hospital around 3 a.m.  Homicide detectives were notified that the man had died about three hours later.

Police say there had been a fight prior to the shooting, but they are not sure if the victim was involved.

"The preliminary investigation has not revealed any motives for this murder. We have not located any witnesses to the shooting and we are searching for anyone that may have been in the parking lot at the time of the shooting," officials say.

Officers say an armed robbery occurred at a club near 1800 S. Boston shortly before the shooting.  The robbery victim was lured to the alley behind the bar and robbed by several black males.

Some of the suspects fled in a silver Ford Fusion with temporary paper plates.

One suspect fled on foot in the direction of the shooting.  He is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 170 pounds.  He has dread lock hair to his shoulders and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans.

During the robbery he was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

Investigators say they are unsure if the two incidents are related other than they happened around the same time.
