TULSA - There are $80-million dollars worth of construction projects happening in Tulsa right now, and about another $20-million in new projects on the way.
City leaders say the upswing in project construction is happening because they are getting funding from many sources.
Crews are completing projects from 2005 and 2006 bond money.
They are working on Fix Our Streets projects funded by a penny sales tax increase. It is expected to bring in more than $400-million dollars to the city.
Stimulus funds are helping to pay for road work as well.
"The ones we received bids on, we should be getting this fall. The ones that we are receiving bids on over the next couple of weeks will probably begin either late this year or the first part of next year," said Lead Engineer Mattew Liechti.
Right now 14 projects are underway on main streets. 8 are happening in neighborhoods.
