BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Police are investigating the early Monday morning death of a 1-year-old girl at a Bartlesville home.

According to Bartlesville Police Chief Tom Holland, medical staff at Jane Phillips Medical Center Emergency Room called the police department at around 3 a.m. to notify police about the child's death.

The child, having been transported by ambulance from a home on the 1500 block of Penn, was pronounced dead when it arrived to the hospital, Holland told 2NEWS.

Following the call, the police department sent investigators to the residence — as is common practice on such calls, said Holland.

At this time, the cause of the infant girl's death is unknown and still under investigation.

We need to determine the cause of death,” Holland told 2NEWS.
