TULSA - Police say 2-year-old Unique Gill is back with her mother after being taken from her south Tulsa day care.
Gill and the man accused of abducting her, Shannon Dean, were located in a stopped vehicle near 4300 N. Hartford Ave., police say.
The toddler was reunited with her mother Thursday and her aunt, Shona Samuel, was there for the reunion.
Thank god that we got her back and she was safe," she said. "We were all praying for her safe return."
Police say Gill was taken from the Hearts of Angel's Child Care Center near 61st and Peoria around 1 p.m. Thursday.
Witnesses reported Dean, Gill's non-custodial father and a registered sex offender, forcibly took Gill from the day care. There is a protective order in place for Unique and her mother against Dean, who is to have no contact with the child.
Police said Dean is a heavy drug user and should be considered dangerous. Witnesses said he had a smell of alcohol about his person.
Dean was also wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for domestic assault and battery with a $10,000 fine.
Dean has an extensive rap sheet. Since 1990 he's been convicted of kidnapping, first-degree rape and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He also served time for larceny, distributing drugs and possession of marijuana.
