BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Washington County residents wanting to vote absentee for the Feb. 14 school election for Bartlesville, Copan, Skiatook and Oklahoma Union Public Schools may do so beginning this week, according to board officials.
On Feb. 10 and Feb. 13, a two-member, bipartisan absentee voting board will be on duty at the county election board office each day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to assist absentee voters, according to County Election Board Secretary Yvonne House.
Once arriving to the office, in-person absentee voters will be required to fill out an application form but will not be required to give a reason for voting absentee. They will, however, be required to swear that they have not voted a mail absentee ballot and that they will not vote at their polling place on Election Day, House said.
The absentee voting board will then verify voter registration information, then issue the ballots which the voter will mark in voting booth and place in a voting device.
“It is very much like voting at a precinct polling place,” said House.
Those desiring more information may call the election board at 918-337-2850.
