BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Unsafe speed is to blame for an auto collision Sunday afternoon that sent a Tulsa woman and two Bartlesville women to the hospital, according to state troopers. Two women were released and one was listed in stable condition.
The accident occurred shortly after noon Sunday about 1.2 miles south of Bartlesville on U.S. Highway 75 when a southbound 2008 Ford Focus driven by Bartlesville Loretta Joan Gray, 58, stopped to make a left turn into a private drive.
It was that a 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by Tulsa resident Cheryl Renee Rush, 38, ran into the rear of the Ford.
Both drivers, Rush and Gray, were transported to Jane Phillips Medical Center where they were treated for trunk, external and leg injuries and then released.
Bartlesville resident Iris Lorene McKinney, 79, who was a passenger in the Ford was admitted to the same hospital in stable condition, but with head, arm, leg and trunk external injuries.
The Washington County state trooper who worked the accident listed “unsafe speed for traffic conditions” as the cause of the accident.
