TULSA - 1. Trying to accomplish too many goals at once:
If you walk into the gym wanting to get big and buff, get lean, lose fat, get strong all at once you end up with nothing.
Building muscle takes extra calories, losing fat and getting leaner takes a calorie deficit. You can see how these goals are not compatible.
Find out what you want to do and go for it and focus on it, accomplish it. You can do other things while you do it but don’t expect to break a record on your bench press and squat if your also trying to get ready for the Tulsa run.
2. Not knowing yourself:
Some people have the discipline to workout at home and alone with no one pushing them. However, there are just as many, if not more that simply can’t, especially in the beginning, push themselves at the proper intensity to see results.
Albert Einstein once said doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity. And he’s right. It’s insanity that can cost you a lot of money in home weight equipment that’s making a great clothes rack. Instead, sign up for a class.
3. No progress denial:
It seems to be a popular choice these days to throw out the weight scale but in my opinion, but Wes says this is an example of denial. If you’re dieting and wanting to lose weight, you’re either losing or your not. Your either doing it right or doing it wrong. Check your progress and if it doesn’t work, change what your doing.
