CINCINNATI, Ohio (WXYZ) - Proctor and Gamble is recalling several types of pet food because of potential salmonella contamination.

The company says the recall is a precaution and no instances of salmonella have been reported. "Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products," reads a press release by P&G.
Consumers who purchased a product listed in the link below should stop using the product and discard it and contact P&G toll-free at 800-208-0172 (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET) or via website at www.iams.com or www.eukanuba.com .
