A word of warning to those putting up Christmas lights this holiday season.

About 20,000 ladders have been voluntarily recalled.

Wing Enterprises and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission made the announcement Tuesday, pulling all Switch-it Stepladder and Stepstool Combinations from stores and putting a ban on resell of the product.

The inside rails of the ladders reportedly can separate from the outer rails when extended.

The recall comes after Wing Enterprises received nine complaints, with falling "injuries ranging from scrapes and contusions to a fractured collar bone," according to the CPSC.

The ladders are sold exclusively at Home Depot.

If you've experienced issues with this product, the CPSC is asking that you contact them at saferproducts.gov or call (800) 638-2272.
