Want to get away for the weekend to a city like Chicago but gas prices are too high and airfares are insane?
Megabus ,the discount city to city bus service, is helping travelers celebrate the holidays with an offer of free seats.
Starting immediately, the bus company is taking reservations for free tickets to all 120 US cities in its service area, between Jan. 9 and Feb. 28, 2013.
Mike Alvich, Megabus’s vice president of marketing, said, "this giveaway makes it possible to invite a friend and go on a fun weekend trip, get out of town to visit family or just enjoy a major city you never thought about visiting before."
How to Get a Free Ticket
To get a chance at a free seat, go to www.megabus.com and enter the promo code TRYMEGABUS.
It will have a limited number of free seats on each bus, just as it has a few $1 seats on each trip. Once the free and $1 seats are all filled, then customers will have to pay $25, $35 or more depending on how long they waited to book their trip.
Megabus is also looking for some good publicity, following news reports about several bus crashes in the past couple of years.
