Sell unwanted Christmas gifts for cash

If you're like a lot of families, you probably have a pile of unwanted Christmas gifts by now.

Either the kids have already grown tired of them, or it's a gift you can't use, and you have no way to return it.

Then check out these simple ways to unload them for cash.

No receipt?  No Problem

Without a receipt, returns can be hard. Which is why you may want to check out some great sites that will take it off your hands, with little effort.

You can always sell things on eBay, but that takes a lot of work.  So check out the newest resale option:  Ebay's Instant Sale site.

No more holding an auction and waiting for bidders: Just enter what you have, like an iPhone 3G, and eBay offers you up to $77 dollars, based on condition.  You will need to set up an eBay account, if you don't have one.

Two other popular sites that will pay you money are Nextworth and Gazelle.

Doesn't That Stink?

But from the "doesn't that stink" file, the downside of these easy trade in sites.

They may not offer you much, leaving you saying "doesn't that stink?"

When I tested Gazelle, it offered my just $27 dollars for my excellent condition, used Nikon Coolpix point and shoot camera, originally $200 when I bought it 3 years earlier.

Another downside?  These sites are mostly for electronics:   Sorry, they don't want that ugly sweater you got for Christmas.  Or Aunt Jenny's fruitcake.

So if you are reluctant to ask the person who gave you a gift for the receipt, then check out these resale sites, so you can unload it for a few bucks, and you don't waste your money.
