More than 11,000 Cadillac CTS models recalled over rear suspension problem

DETROIT (WXYZ) - General Motors has announced that it is recalling more than 11,000 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS models over a problem with the rear suspension.
The company says a wax coating on the rear suspension toe link jam nuts can allow the nut to loosen. If that happens the link can separate, causing the rear wheel to turn freely. This can cause the driver to lose control of the car, raising the risk of an accident.
GM says a metallic clanking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle can act as a warning that the nut is loosening. The company has not yet notified owners about the recall.
Dealers will fix the problem by cleaning the wax residue and install two new jam nuts. If necessary, the rear suspension toe link may also be replaced.
