Before you start sweating the summer away, make sure to schedule time to organize the things that matter most to you! Summertime should be filled with relaxation which I believe only happens when you have nothing else to worry about.

Take this week to organize your schedule so you have time to relax while putting some extra energy into the things you’ve been putting off this year. Stop feeling guilty for ignoring your bathroom remodel or not taking any “me” time, take control of what’s weighing on your mind and get it done now!

1- Get going on that home remodel project!

Whether big or small, making changes to your home can be very simple if you are organized and prepared for the challenge. Make a list of the necessary supplies you will need to prevent multiple trips to the hardware store. Being prepared will save money on gas and you won’t purchase unnecessary tools or supplies, and will just make your life more simple... period!

2- Keep your supplies accessible!

If you already have supplies for your project, make sure they are accessible but out of the way of high traffic areas in your home. Having a special location for your equipment will allow you to focus on the task at hand without having to spend any extra time searching for misplaced items. The organization and placement of these tools will prevent you from having a serious accident... especially if there are little kids running around.

3- Make time for YOU!

We all have responsibilities and commitments but these obligations shouldn’t overwhelm you. If you are feeling weighed down by responsibilities to others, use this summer to schedule some time to do something that makes you happy.

Organize a game night every Friday for your friends, a book club, a music sharing club, a painting party... anything that will help you explore a creative side of yourself while being able to enjoy the company of the people you love.

It's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of life... so take some time and breathe this summer, and have something to show for it!

I want to hear from YOU! Tell me what organizational questions cross your mind. If you want to start organizing and don’t know where to begin, I am here to help. Email the O.C.D. Experience at ocd@ocdexperience.com and maybe your organizational challenge will be discussed next week.
