Rapper will.i.am is refusing to contact police about his missing limited edition sports car over fears he is the target of a prank.
The Black Eyed Peas star was left fuming in the early hours of Tuesday (14Aug12) after discovering his white, custom-made, futuristic supercar had gone missing from the parking lot at The Avalon hotel in Los Angeles, where he held his album launch party.
He took to Twitter.com to vent his anger, but the rapper's representative later played down the report and insisted will.i.am "has his car".
However, the star returned to the microblogging site late on Tuesday to reveal he has still not been reunited with his luxury motor.
In a series of posts, he writes, "Just landed in Portland... and still no news about my car's whereabouts... where's my car.
"I'm not going to the police... spread the word via tweets in case I'm getting Punk'd. I don't want to waste tax dollars on pranks.
"There (sic) going to find the people responsible for this... tracking device."
