SAMMY HAGAR was presented with a key to a Californian city on Saturday (15Sep12) as officials celebrated the rocker's contribution to the local community.
The former Van Halen star opened his new restaurant in the city of Roseville and officials declared Saturday 'Sammy Hagar Day'.
Roseville Mayor Pauline Roccucci took to the stage at Sammy Hagar's Beach Bar & Grill to present the musician with a key to the city, and Hagar put on a concert at the venue to raise money for local charities.
Hagar told reporters, "This is really a home run. It (the restaurant) looks fantastic; it's got a great vibe about it... This is really a cool place because it's got history. It's got soul."
The venture raised more than $40,000 for good causes.
