Olivia Munn fronts gruesome new Chinese fur farm video

Actress OLIVIA MUNN has signed on as the narrator of a hard-hitting new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals video expose, which takes viewers behind the scenes of a Chinese fur farm.

Undercover PETA investigators spent weeks capturing the shocking footage that reveals exactly how pelts are removed from animals, many of which are still alive and writhing in pain.

Munn, who is of Chinese descent, tells WENN exclusively, "This new footage is one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen before. Anyone who wears fur or is even thinking about wearing fur should watch PETA's video. It shows exactly where - and who - that coat or that little bit of trim came from."

The video, which is currently available online, opens with never-before-seen footage of workers on a fur farm placing a dog's head in a wire noose, restraining her, and genitally electrocuting her with a metal rod.

The film also features harrowing scenes of workers bludgeoning raccoon dogs, cutting off rabbits' heads, and shattering animals' bones by throwing cages crammed with dogs and cats to the floor. Many of the creatures featured in the video are still wearing the collars placed on them by the families they have been taken from.

PETA spokeswoman Wendy Wegner tells WENN, "Oftentimes, fur from China is mislabelled as fur from another species, so that consumers cannot be confident that they know whose fur they are really wearing."

PETA bosses plan to use the hard-hitting video to encourage celebrities to stop wearing fur and designers at top U.S. fashion houses to stop importing fur from China.

Animal lover Munn has been a longtime PETA supporter - she once bared all for the organisation's 'I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur' billboard campaign.
