Miley Cyrus heartbroken after dog dies

Singer/actress MILEY CYRUS has been left devastated following the death of her beloved pet dog.

The animal-loving star took to her Twitter.com page on Tuesday (11Dec12) and told followers she was depressed after losing her two-year-old pooch Lila, a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier.

She tweeted, "Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today.... For everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away."

Cyrus, who has five other dogs, named Ziggy, Floyd, Happy, Mary Jane and Penny Lane, now plans to take some time away from the spotlight to grieve.

She adds, "(I'm) broken. Gonna go MIA (missing in action) for a bit. Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it."
