Director MARTIN SCORSESE is set to produce a new biopic about outspoken film critic ROGER EBERT.
The beloved 70 year old, who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is widely considered to be America's most popular movie reviewer due to his turn as co-host of TV show Ebert & Roeper.
He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2002, limiting his ability to eat, drink, or speak, and last year (11) he released his life story, Life Itself: A Memoir, which details everything from his battle with alcohol to his friendship with the stars.
And now, after decades of watching the works of other actors, Ebert will have his time to shine in a big screen adaptation of his own book.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scorsese will executive produce with Moneyball star Steven Zaillian, while Hoop Dreams filmmaker Steve James will direct.
Casting details were not known as WENN went to press, although production is due to begin imminently.
