Country star JO DEE MESSINA has rescheduled her upcoming Canadian dates to stay close to her sick mother in America.
The I'm Alright singer was set to visit Canada later this month (May13), but her mom is still recovering after being hospitalized with heart complications, and the star is reluctant to leave the country.
In an online post to her Canadian fans, Messina writes: "I wanted to write you myself and let you know, sadly we had to move those shows to October. My mother hasn’t been well. It’s been a day-by-day thing. One day she’s better, one day she takes two steps back.
"I had to be the one to make the call on whether or not we were going to keep those shows in place or move them. I didn’t feel comfortable being so far away, not having the ability to get home fast, in case things made a turn for the worse."
