Jessica Alba, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Kerry Washington are Women Doing Good

Actresses JESSICA ALBA, JENNA DEWAN-TATUM, and KERRY WASHINGTON are set to be honored for their charity work at the 2012 Women Doing Good Awards.

The Hollywood stars will be celebrated by bosses at U.S. magazine Self for their achievements in a variety of fields.

Alba will be recognized for launching eco-friendly baby product firm The Honest Company, which she founded after the birth of her first daughter Honor, and the Step Up star is to be praised for her work with The Gentle Barn, a facility in Los Angeles which rescues and rehabilitates abused farm animals.

Dewan-Tatum tells the publication, "In Hollywood, there's this energy that nothing is good enough. You get a movie but not the one you wanted. You get a role but not the biggest. It's draining and not who I am at my core. So I take time to go to places that ground me, like The Gentle Barn. Otherwise, I'd spin out."

Additionally, Washington was selected for her efforts to bring arts education programs to underprivileged children, adding, "Through art, we can understand who we are and who we want to be. If we want to compete globally, we need arts programs. But we teach kids to pass tests, not to help innovate. The arts help kids think creatively, but they're one of the first things to get cut."
