Carl Barat to be honored with doctorate

THE LIBERTINES star CARL BARAT is to be awarded an honorary a doctorate from the University Of Winchester in England.

The rocker will pick up his latest accolade next month (Nov12), according to NME.com.

Ironically, his mother works at the institution and his sister, Alice, will graduate at the same time with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama.

But the family ties have nothing to do with the honor - Professor Elizabeth Stuart, the university's senior pro-vice-chancellor says, "Carl Barat is one of the most innovative and interesting figures in contemporary British music. The University is delighted to honor such a creative and reflective performer."
