Bob Dylan invited to perform at poet's 100th birthday celebration

BOB DYLAN has been asked to headline a festival to mark the 100th birthday of his namesake DYLAN THOMAS in the poet's native Wales.

Politician Geraint Davies has personally invited Dylan to perform in Swansea as part of a series of events to be held in 2014, but he doesn't just want the folk rocker to show up and play his hits.

He explains, "I have asked Bob Dylan whether he would be prepared to give a centenary concert in Swansea, in order that he could blend his music with Dylan Thomas's poetry. Sony Music has come back and said that Mr. Dylan is thinking very positively about the idea."
